Inspired by the Latin word Ludo, our name reflects the joy of the game—and our commitment to helping others discover it.

We proudly sell high-quality, hand-crafted pickleball paddles and accessories, all made right here in Canada.  By sourcing exclusively from Canadian manufacturers, we’re not just offering premium gear at unbeatable prices—we’re supporting local craftsmanship and helping players take pride in what they play with.

In addition to equipment sales, we provide honest, personalized training for beginner and intermediate players.  Whether it’s one-on-one or in a small group setting, our coaching focuses on identifying each player’s unique challenges and giving them the tools they need to improve.

Our Team

Rick Crane is a certified pickleball instructor, and the founder of LUDO Pickleball, proudly based on the Avalon Peninsula near St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. A passionate player and dedicated instructor, Rick has earned multiple certifications from Pickleball Canada, allowing him to coach with both technical skill and strategic insight.

With ample experience teaching adults in technical training, professional development, and as a guest speaker at provincial conferences, Rick brings a clear, honest, and effective approach to coaching. His sessions are focused on helping beginner and intermediate players identify gaps in their game and work toward measurable improvement—whether through one-on-one instruction or small group training.

Since discovering pickleball, Rick has become an active and recognized competitor. Through LUDO Pickleball, he combines his love for the sport with high-quality, Canadian-made paddles and accessories, helping players not only play better—but play with pride.
